Hello friends 👋🏻 a new year begins, hopefully a great one for Web3! 🚀

Crypto Stuff 🚀

📈 The Markets

  • $BTC - $43,235.10 is down 0.4% in the last 7 days

  • $ETH - $2,242.74 is down 6.9% in the last 7 days

👀 Jim Cramer is bullish on Bitcoin (OMG, we're headed to zero now! This guy is notorious for always calling the wrong side of the coin). Also, It seems this week there was a questionable report suggesting that ETFs will be rejected, leading to a negative reaction in the markets. That's one side of the story; the other suggests that the market's reaction wasn't due to this report.

🗞️ The News

🚨 Security Stuff

Here are some hacks/money lost during the holidays. What always strikes me is the common pattern found in most DeFi hacks: Either an Oracle Price manipulation attack or a compromised multisig usually from DeFi Bridges.

What’s even funnier is that apparently 2023 was a good-not-so-bad-year for hacks 😅

🆒  Cool Stuff from the Week

📱 Cool app I’m using

I’m trying out a fantastic reading app that consolidates everything you want to read into one beautiful location. The app, named Matter, allows you to connect it to your email to gather newsletters and articles in a single place. It also lets you add other web articles through a Chrome extension. It's pretty useful when you have multiple newsletters and assorted content scattered around that you want to read.

📺 Show I Watched During the Holidays

This is a funny and friendly TV show about a snobby food critic based in Buenos Aires. I found it quite funny and interesting, especially since I really like Robert De Niro, who played a role in this one. The TV show is called 'Nothing.' Here's the trailer if you're looking for a short miniseries to watch 🙂.

🤔 Quote I’m pondering:

Memento Mori, or translated in English, “Remember you must die.” The point of this reminder isn’t to be morbid or promote fear, but to inspire, motivate and clarify. The idea has been central to art, philosophy, literature, architecture, and more throughout history.
